Mary Clayton aka Mary Lide & Mary Lomer.

She is an historian and award-winning poet who received her M.A. from Oxford University (St. Hugh’s College, Oxford, B.A., 1953; M.A., 1960).

Mary (Lomer) Lide went to America as a Fulbright English-Speaking Union Fellow to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where she taught in the History Department. She has lived in England, Denmark and Italy, and divides her time now between America and St Austell in Cornwall.

She is the daughter of Edwin James Lomer and Grace Pringle Black.

Her first novel, Ann of Cambray attributed to Mary Lide won the Romantic Times' New Historical Fiction Award.
