Born into a family of chefs, Brianne grew up baking, spinning tales of bold princesses and gutsy ladies, and developing a deep love for British history and authors.

After receiving a degree in English Literature from Macalester College, she embarked on a career in journalism and web publishing.

Nearly 10 years ago, she moved to the history-soaked city of Edinburgh and felt like she'd finally come home. She now lives by the sea in East Lothian with her husband, sons, and crazy bulldog.
